The foyer is the first thing people see when they enter your home! It's such a great place to decorate, you can really set the tone for the rest of the home.
We live in a 1920's Colonial, and typical of older homes, the foyer can be small and dark. Luckily, our foyer is open and bright and very welcoming.
Here's a few pictures of our foyer to give you an idea of what you could add to yours!
This is what you see when you walk in the door....
Our beautiful staircase... I might add some more pictures over time, but right now I am loving the more sparse look.
Peeking around the corner to our living room...
Love these mirrors...
One of the many pieces of furniture in my house that I rescued! I have so many items of furniture that are outdated and have been given new life with some chalk paint and glaze! The hydrangeas are one of my favorite ways to decorate. I love bringing a little green into the house!
This cabinet was given to me by a neighbor after his mother passed away. It sat in my garage for a few months, I wasn't sure what to do with it. It was a really dark finish and had all these drawers. It was too low to use as a dresser... One day I was balancing on one foot trying to put my shoes on when I made a mental note to look for a bench... and the lightbulb went off! It was given a brush of white Annie Sloan chalk paint, and I left the top drawers in place.
It really is one of my favorite pieces in my house, and it meant so much to my neighbor that we could use it.
I found these gorgeous vintage looking knobs at Hobby Lobby, I think they add a nice little touch to the bench!
I was shopping for a client the other day and I came across this white, distressed mirror at T.J. Maxx. I grabbed it to stage with, and it has been sitting unloved in a hallway for a bit. I thought it might brighten up the foyer, so I switched out the current mirror.
I think I like it much better than the distressed antique mirror that was there.
Here's a closeup up the accessories:
A chippy, white frame with pictures of my darling daughters and an apocethary jar with faux moss balls. All purchased at T.J. Maxx. I really love their decor!

I think the mirror has found it's new home! Sometimes just switching out one thing in your room can make all the difference!
